Jessilyn & Lucas Brinkerhoff

We are Jessilyn and Lucas Brinkerhoff, a muralist duo based in Eugene/Portland. This is our first mural in McMinnville/Yamhill County, and we are thrilled to be invited to this beautiful project. This custom mural features larger-than-life species native to our region, as well as elements of creative expression, such as a hand holding a Pacific rhododendron stem and a paintbrush creating an apple branch. Continued below.

Bees weave between the elements, bringing a sense of movement down the wall. The left focal point, which draws viewers into the alley, is an image of me holding my fiddle, tying into the local event Make Music McMinnville. We grew up in rural Southern Oregon as part of a musical and creative family, so native species, landscapes, and the Americana music we play inform our work today. This installation was a weeklong adventure that included a rainstorm, a heatwave, some fiddle tunes played in the alley on the featured fiddle, incredible local food, and lots of visits from new friends to bring this piece to life. Thank you to Visit McMinnville and all the generous folks who made us feel welcome. See more of our work at jbrinkerhoff.com and @jessbrinkart.
